One out of two held for making reels near the KRS crest gates

A major security lapse has been reported at Krishna raja Sagar Reservoir in Srirangapatna Taluk of Mandya district, after two persons were found taking a selfie near the crest gates on Friday.

According to information reaching here, the two youths were found walking near the crest gates and making the reels. This incident has brought to the fore the breach of security since the dam’s safety had been handed over to the Karnataka Industrial Security Force (KISF). Besides, the Karnataka civil and reserve police too are also deployed in and around the dam to check any illegal entry of people inside the reservoir.

As this news spread and uploaded on social media, the people were shocked to see the illegal entry of two persons inside the most secured place and slammed the cops for their laxity. In fact, the entry to the crest gates is restricted and only the authorized persons are allowed. But how did those two youths go near the crest gates is a big question.

Close on the heels of this incident, the Mandya cops are learnt to have taken one person into the custody and looking for another person.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
