The village administration officers, who have been suffering without offices for many years, will finally get offices. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has given a deadline to all the Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officers to provide new offices to at least 1,000 village administration officers in the next 15 days in the gram panchayat offices available across the state.
He said, holding a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers through video conference on Friday.
“The common people and their representatives are complaining that the village administration officers are not available. Since they do not have an office of their own, they are not able to respond to the needs of the public. Also, the village administration officers have been demanding an office for themselves for many years. Therefore, the government is committed to providing offices to all the village administration officers,” he said.
“There are 5,944 village administration officers working in revenue circles across the state, and according to the available information, there is enough space to build offices for at least 1,000 village administration officers within the premises of the Gram Panchayat Office. The Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers should start working in this regard within the next 15 days. In the next phase, new buildings should be constructed within the Gram Panchayat premises and offices should be opened for the remaining officers,” he said.
Revenue Department Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar Kataria and Revenue Commissioner Sunil Kumar were present.
The government’s aim is to make all the officials available to the people under one roof. For this reason, the offices of the village administration officers are being opened in the Panchayat offices, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda told the officials.
