Mysuru witnessed the first-ever Queer Carnival
Mysuru
The Mysuru Poppins Club, in association with Spandana and Queer Awaam, celebrated the first-ever Mysuru Queer Carnival here on Saturday.
This landmark event marked an important step in Mysuru's journey toward inclusivity, visibility, and celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month.
The highlight of the carnival was a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring queer individuals and allies. The conversation centered around vital themes suchas mental health, legal rights, intersectionality, and cultural expression-offering a space for honest dialogue, reflection, and connection. Together, they explored how the communities can foster well-being, honour lived experiences, and build collective joy and justice.
There were powerful stories and critical insights from the queer community, interactive games and activities and an inclusive open mic session. Drag queen performances at Brioche Doree, brought colour, charisma and celebration till the event. This was a safe, welcoming safe for all-queer folks, allies, families, and friends-to come together in solidarity and celebration. In total, the Mysuru Queer Carnival promised to be a vibrant, empowering and unforgettable experience.
