G Kumar Naik, MP of the Raichur-Yadagiri constituency, has yet to utilize Rs 5.90 crore under the MPLADS scheme. This includes Rs 90 lakh left unspent by former MP Raja Amareshwara Naik. Despite multiple requests from various organizations and communities, no action has been taken.

Raichur and Yadagiri districts, which have reserved constituencies for Scheduled Castes, have not received any fund recommendations from the MP as of mid-February. District Commissioner Nitesh had to step in and send a letter on February 17, raising concerns about developmental needs.

For 2024-25, at least 15% of the MPLADS funds should be allocated to Scheduled Caste residential areas and 7.5% to other marginalized communities. The MP was reminded of this on February 21.

Following a reminder, officials uploaded details of ten projects worth Rs 2.5 crore to the e-Sakshi portal on March 1.

Though the MP’s office claims to have proposed Rs 1.40 crore worth of projects for Yadgiri, district officials confirmed that only Rs 40 lakh worth of projects were uploaded to the e-Sakshi portal.
