Supporting farmers who are opposed to the proposed amusement park and Cauvery Aarti at the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam, Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha member and a member of Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar opined that those two projects were not good in the interest of the safety of the reservoir.

He told reporters here that the dam is soon completing 100 years and it was not advisable to take up those two projects as it would affect the surrounding environment of the dam. Such projects were not required for the dam to become famous as it has gained recognition worldwide and thousands of tourists visit the place every day.

Yaduveer said the government must take note of the concerns of farmers and shift those two projects to either Shivanasamudra in Malavalli taluk or any other suitable place instead of the KRS dam. “At any cost, the amusement park must not be allowed to come up in KRS dam,” he added.

The MP said Mandya has its own culture and there was no need for the introduction of a new practice of performing the Arati which has been formulated at a cost of Rs 92 crore. "I am surprised at the estimate and don't know whether that much money is required to perform the Arati. Our BJP party will get the Cauvery Aarti performed that too at a nominal cost".
