Taking serious note of the recent water poisoning incident in Hoolikatti village, Savadatti MLA Vishwas Vaidya has directed Police Inspector Dharmakar Dharmatti to immediately arrest the culprits responsible. The directive came during the quarterly KDP meeting held at the Taluk Panchayat Hall in Savadatti.

MLA Vaidya emphasized the need for installing CCTV cameras in schools to prevent such incidents and instructed Block Education Officer (BEO) Mohan Dandin to report departmental issues to him directly. He raised concerns over contaminated water being supplied to the school on Yakkeri-Gorabala road and ordered immediate rectification.

Addressing RDPR AEE Basavaraja Ayyanagowda, the MLA stressed proper chlorination, noting that low river levels had previously caused disease outbreaks due to mixing with city waste. He said the increased water level now calls for strict monitoring.

On agriculture, the MLA questioned Assistant Director S.V. Patil regarding compensation for rain-damaged horticultural crops and sought details on seed failure surveys and the ongoing urea fertilizer shortage. He also inquired about the availability of farm equipment.

CDPO Amrutha Sanikoppa informed the meeting that 370 Anganwadis are functional, with nutritious food supplied to children and mothers. She reported that 10 child marriages were prevented, with one case registered.

Vaidya urged health authorities to stock sufficient medicines, especially for dog and snake bites, as patients from neighboring taluks also visit Savadatti Hospital. Taluk Health Officer Sripada Sabanis and CMO H.M. Mallanagoudra were directed to ensure preparedness.

Tahsildar M.N. Hegganavara, EO Anand Badakundri, Yaragatti Tahsildar M.V.H. Gundappagol, and several departmental officials were present.
