Sugarcane Development, Sugar, Textiles and Agricultural Marketing Minister Shivanand Patil assured that a meeting of ethanol factory owners and maize buyers will be convened soon to resolve the cess issue related to Form 35B.
On Wednesday, at the Agricultural Marketing Department office hall in Bengaluru, led by MLC DS Arun, the Minister listened to the pleas of maize buyers of Davangere, Shivamogga and Chitradurga districts APMCs, and said that the online cess payment system is already in effect in all APMCs of Davangere district and will be implemented in all APMCs of the state in a phased manner.
“If the cess is paid online, the receipt will not require the signature and seal of the APMC officials. All APMC officials will be notified in this regard.” The Minister said that an understanding will be given in this regard in the meeting of buyers and owners of processing units.
The maize buyers demanded that the Form 35B system should not be used, only the Form 35A system should be in force. Traders complained that some ethanol companies are delaying the payment of maize purchase money due to the lack of signature and seal despite obtaining Form 35B online. The owners of the processing units are saying that they will pay the maize purchase money after checking the 35B. This is causing a problem and is delaying it for three months. They requested that this problem should be resolved quickly.
