In the wake of strong opposition in the district to the opening of the BSPL factory, Union Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy has responded by saying that the central government has not received a proposal regarding this factory.

Speaking to the media, he said, It has come to the notice that Gavisiddheshwara Swamiji and the people who are fighting against the factory's damage to the environment here. I also support this fight. But this is an agreement between the state government and the factory. I have not received any proposal.

There has been opposition to the factory under the leadership of Swamiji. The government should sit down and have a discussion with the public and Swamiji. He said that the government should focus on implementing the project without any harm to the environment.

I completely agree with Swamiji's demand to give a special industrial policy to Koppal. Government factories producing steel in the country have taken steps to afforest without harming the environment. The factory needs to be built in a way that does not harm the environment and does not cause problems to the health of the people, he said.

The state government should be pro-people. They are doing politics in the name of  guarantee scheme in the state. There is no shortage of money in the state. However, development work is not being done in the state due to misuse. Several projects are limited to announcements only. They alleged that money is being misused in some projects.

Reacting to DK Shivakumar's statement, he said, did the people of the state give DK Shivakumar the authority to fix the nuts and bolts.  There are others who can do that job
