Minister felicitates students who excelled in SSLC, PU examinations

Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar said she gave top priority to education and health sectors in rural areas. She emphasized that students should develop social commitment along with receiving a good education. On the premises of her house in Kuvempu Nagar, the Minister congratulated more than 600 students from the rural constituency who scored more than 80 per cent in SSLC and PUC examinations of 2024-25. The Minister said poverty will never be an obstacle to education. Hebbalkar said she worked hard to provide educational infrastructure in the rural areas for the last seven years. It is being ensured that no school has a shortage of rooms. Hundreds of rooms were constructed, and all facilities, including compounds, drinking water facilities, and playgrounds, are being provided, she said. The Minister said it was her dream to start smart classes in schools. Smart classes will be started in those schools where it is necessary, very soon. She added that if there is any problem with college admission, it should be brought to her attention. The Minister announced that students who scored more than 90 percent will be given a cash reward by the Laxmi Tayi Foundation.

MLC Channaraj Hattiholi said Minister Hebbalkar was giving more emphasis on education in the rural areas of Belagavi. Along with education, a plan has been made to build a taluk-level stadium for the health of children. Six acres in the Belgundi area have already been handed over to the sports department for the construction of well-equipped stadium at a cost of about Rs 20 crore.

Deputy Director of School Education Leelavati Hiremath, Deputy Directors of Pre-University education Kamble, Yuvaraj Kadam, Shankar Gouda Patil, Nagesh Desai, BEO Dasappanavar, and CPI Usman Avati were present.
