Midnight Murder Case, Accused Father, Children Arrested

A man, who killed a biker with lethal weapons after he questioned a man who was driving rashly with an indicator, has been caught by the Police. The arrested have been identified as Swaraj Sahil Hodel, a resident of Ghazipur layout and his father Nagaraj Hodal. A minor boy has been taken into custody and legal action has been initiated. Police have also seized a Mahindra Thar jeep and weapons used by the accused in the crime, City Police Commissioner R Chetan informed.

Pramod, a 22-year-old youth, was murdered on Adarsh Nagar Cross Ring Road under MB Nagar Police station limits at around 12 midnight on May 24. Pramod and his relative Avinash were on their way to Pooja Colony on Sedam Road from Adarsh Colony on a bike   when Sahil, who was in the car, honked the car and drove away.   Avinash, a relative of the deceased,   an eyewitness, said two miscreants got down from the car and attacked him with lethal weapons and killed the biker, Pramod.

When Sahil's father Nagaraj went home after the murder, he hid his children and   car and tried to mislead the Police. Both have been arrested and sent to jail. The minor boy has been taken into custody.

The accused, Sahil has ciminal cases registered against him. Sahil, who has a background in the crime, had given an undertaking to the police last year in a case under Section 307 of the IPC.  

  A special team led by senior officials has been formed and the accused have been arrested, Police Commissioner said.   He has appreciated the efforts of the police officers who succeeded in nabbing the murder accused and encouraged them by giving a cash reward of Rs 10,000 to the personnel.
