A meeting has been convened for landowners in the Jungamkote hobli to gather opinions regarding the land identified for acquisition by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) on April 25. The meeting will take place at Jyothi English School in Jungamkote.

The land acquisition notice has already been issued for 2,823 acres across 13 villages in the Jungamkote hobli. The local administration has informed the landowners to attend the meeting on April 25 with necessary documents, as the land will be acquired by the KIIDC.

There are a total of 1,166 landowners associated with the 2,823 acres of land from the 13 villages, and information letters have already been sent to all of them from the Tahsildar's office. The details of the documents required for the meeting have been specified in the letter.

Following the preliminary acquisition notice from KIIDC, confusion arose among farmers regarding whether to hand over their land, leading to protests from some farmers who agreed to surrender their land, while many others decided against it.

District In-Charge Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, MLA B.N. Ravikumar, District Commissioner P.N. Ravindra, the Special Land Acquisition Officer from KIIDC, and Tahsildar B.N. Swamy will participate in the meeting.
