Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat To Get Parthisubba Award

The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy has announced the Parthisubba Prashasthi 2024 for Himmela artiste Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat. Releasing the list of awardees, academy president Tallur Shivaram Shetty said that the Parthisubba Award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, in accordance with government regulations, convened a meeting of all members on November 18, 2024, at Tulu Bhavan in Mangaluru to select awardees for the prestigious Parthisubba Award, the annual Gaurava Prashasthi, and the Yakshasiri Annual Award for 2024. For the academy's Gaurava Award, five achievers were selected Koltige Narayana Gowda, Kodi Vishwanath Ganiga, Raghavadas, Subraya Holla, and Kantaraju. Each awardee will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a plaque, a certificate and a felicitation, Shetty said.

For the Yakshasiri Annual Award, 10 achievers were chosen, Adka Gopalakrishna Bhat, Jagannath Acharya Ellampalli, Mavaru Balakrishna Maniyani, Umesh Kuppepadavu, Shivananda Gijagaru, Mugwa Ganesh Naik, Surendra Malli, Andala Deviprasad Shetty, Krishnappa, and Haluvali Jyoti. Each will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a felicitation.

Meanwhile, Kargallu Vishweshwara Bhat was selected for the Karki Senior Paramayya Hasyagara Award. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a felicitation, he said, adding that the award ceremony will be held on February 16 at the Yakshagana Kalaranga.
