Following the murder of rowdy-sheeter Suhas Shetty, Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M.P. has ordered the closure of all liquor shops from May 2 to 6 AM on May 3. The move aims to prevent law and order issues amid the tense atmosphere in the district. The ban covers all outlets in Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, Kadaba, and Sullia taluks. The directive was issued based on a recommendation from the Superintendent of Police to curb possible unrest caused by intoxicated anti-social elements.
