Knowledge of first aid skills is essential for everyone, including government officials, staff, the public, youth and students, said Principal District and Sessions Judge BV Renuka.
She was speaking after inaugurating the first aid kit distribution ceremony organized by the District Legal Services Authority, District Judiciary, District Bar Association and Indian Red Cross Society District Committee at the city's District and Sessions Court auditorium on Saturday.
In daily business life, in case of an emergency, an ambulance may not be available. Everyone should be ready to provide first aid on the spot to save the life of a person without any equipment. For that, everyone should know the first aid skills and methods. He said that the youth should be more aware of first aid.
Indian Red Cross Society State President Basarur Rajeev Shetty said that everyone should know the importance of first aid kits. They should not just keep the kits at home and use them in necessary situations.
The Red Cross Society is working in 189 countries. It has won the Nobel Prize four times. Everyone should know the importance of blood donation. Everyone should focus on maintaining good health, he said.
