BELAGAVI: “The 26 tourists who died in Pahalgam have not received justice. We will have to wait again for that. The war has stopped due to the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. We need to think about what to do next,” said Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi. He added, “Everyone expected a full-scale war, but it didn't happen. The challenge ahead is how to build the country. The BJP itself has posted on social media about the way Indira Gandhi built Pakistan in 1971. Everyone, including the BJP, had expressed the opinion that the war should not be stopped. But now the war has stopped. So, nothing can be done,” he said.

Speaking about the objections raised over US President Donald Trump's mediation, he said, it is an international issue. The question of why Trump intervened and who appealed to him will come out one day. Until then, we all have to wait.

Regarding the burning of religious scriptures by a community in Santi Bastawada village, he said, “A suo moto case has been registered. The police are investigating. The mosque has not taken any precautionary measures including CCTV. Such cases are increasing. We will take action to prevent them. The police are trying their best to prevent criminal acts in the city. If there is any specific case, we will bring it to their attention.”
