Jarkiholi meets Fadnavis after Yatnal's expulsion
Belagavi
Following the expulsion of Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal from the BJP, former Minister and Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is identified as part of Yatnal's rebel faction, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai and discussed the developments in the state BJP.
The leader of his faction, Yatnal, is a senior leader of the party and it is unfortunate that he has been expelled from the party. It is imperative that he continues in the party. The leaders identified in the neutral faction are with us. It is learnt from his close circle that Jarkiholi has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis to put pressure on the party high command to withdraw the order of expulsion of Yatnal.
Not only that, they have also asked the BJP State President, BY Vijayendra, to be removed from the post and pressured the higher-ups to appoint someone else based on experience. They have appealed to the party to correct the mistakes that have been made, sources said.
Due to the hasty meeting with Devendra Fadnavis, there was no opportunity for a lengthy discussion on the state political developments. Therefore, Ramesh Jarkiholi is said to have decided to meet Devendra Fadnavis again soon. However, it is also said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has not given any assurance on the request of MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi.
Ramesh Jarkiholi said that it is true that he met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. However, he cannot say what discussions took place there.
