Instructions to Respond to Farmers’ Problems
HAVERI — Farmers should not be made to run from pillar to post to resolve their issues, especially at Tahsildar offices, said MLA Yasir Ahmed Pathan. He was addressing officials during a programme at the Tahsildar’s office in Savanur, where laptops were distributed to Village Administrative Officers (VAOs) of Shiggavi and Savanur taluks, and computerized land records were handed over to the public.
He emphasized that protecting public property and ensuring easy access to land records through digitization will reduce the burden on farmers and improve governance. “Officials and people’s representatives must work sincerely. Only then will the lives of the rural population truly improve,” he added.
So far, land records of 16 lakh farmers have been digitized in the area, and property titles distributed to over 25,000 people across 50 villages. Inheritance records of 11,992 deceased persons have also been handed over to rightful heirs, streamlining land ownership processes.
Shiggavi Tahsildar Ravi Koravara reported that 6.12 lakh records have been computerized, and 450 unauthorized houses identified. Property documentation (partas) has been issued to 530 beneficiaries. In addition, 34,000 people are receiving pensions, and 1.32 lakh records have been fully digitized.
He also highlighted the resolution of road construction issues leading to farmland in several villages, ensuring smoother access for farmers. “They can now get their property records promptly and without difficulty,” he said.
Present at the event were Savanur Tahsildar Bharat Kumar, Municipal Members Gausakhan Munasi, Vasantha Bagura, Ayobakhan Pathana, and Village Administrative Officers’ Association Taluk Unit President Santosh Malwada.
Village administration officials must provide documents to farmers efficiently. With laptops now available, they can deliver services faster in rural areas. If used effectively, these tools will greatly benefit farmers, said MLA Yasir Ahmed Pathan, urging officials to make full use of the technology for the public’s welfare.
