Shivamogga
The scorching temperature has reached 40 degrees in Shivamogga, the gateway to Malnad. Not only people, but also birds are suffering from the scorching heat. Realising this, bird lovers have shown their love for the environment by providing water and food grains for the birds.
DK Shivakumar Brigade is working with various organizations to provide water and food for birds. Water sources dry up in summer. Humans ask for water to drink. However, birds cannot do that.
Therefore, water and food are being provided for birds to drink. Members of the brigade hung water and food on the trees in the premises of the city's tourist temple.
They check it every two days and if the water in it decreases or the grains are empty, they are working to replace it.
To provide water and food to the birds, an empty two-liter juice bottle is taken, half of it is filled with water, and three-quarters of it is filled with water. A plastic plate is placed under the bottle, tied to the bottle with a wire, and tied to a tree with a long string.
This will be beneficial for the birds as they fly more in this area during morning and evening. Since it is tied to the tree itself, the birds will naturally feel the need to eat.
K Devendrappa, Coordinator involved in the work of attaching water and nuts to trees for birds, said, during the summer, there is often a shortage of water and food for birds. Due to this, we are attaching food and water to trees for birds. Our work has started today and will continue continuously. This time we are doing the work of placing 150 bottles of water and nuts.
