Immediate action on harassment by microfinance companies: Dr G Parameshwara

If a complaint is filed with the police about harassment and harassment by microfinance institutions, immediate action will be taken, said Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar.

Speaking to media persons near his residence in Sadashivanagar on Wednesday, he said, instructions have been given to take action as soon as a complaint is received. A meeting has been called with the Law Minister and the Revenue Minister. A law is being formulated to give more powers to the District Magistrates. A helpline will be started. If the meeting is final, we will bring it before the Cabinet.

 The DPR for the metro project up to Tumakuru is not yet final. It has been given to a Hyderabad company but the DPR report has not been submitted. We will take a decision after the report is submitted. After that, we will seek permission from the central government, he said.
