The five-day annual jatra of Haveri Hukkerimath, a prominent spiritual centre for Veerashaiva-Lingayat followers, has concluded, commemorating Shivabasava and Shivalinga Mahashivayogi Swamiji. The significant fair, among the largest in the northern region of the state, drew thousands of devotees. The organising committee arranged various activities, including a cattle fair, entertainment programmes, seminars, and cultural events during the celebration. The city witnessed the grand procession of Shivabasava and Shivalinga Mahashivayogi seers on the final day. Residents adorned the streets with illuminations and rangoli patterns outside their homes along the procession route. Various folk groups performed throughout the procession, which culminated at Hukkerimath. Sadashiva Swamiji, the seer of Hukkerimath, stated, Hukkerimath has been offering Trividha Dasoha, food, education, and spiritual knowledge. We set up various educational institutions. Shivabasava and Shivalinga Mahashivayogi seers did great work in this region for protecting our Veerashaiva-Lingayat tradition and education, especially for women.
