Home Minister raises concerns over rising crimes by migrants Bengaluru

Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar addressed the increasing crime rate in Bengaluru, attributing it to people from other states. He expressed concerns over their understanding of local culture and the resulting crimes.

Speaking to the media on Monday near his residence in Sadashivanagar, Parameshwar said, “We are seeing more crime cases from people coming from other states.” He noted that many migrants do not seem to understand the local culture and emotions, leading to an increase in crimes, particularly by construction workers. He mentioned plans to address this issue by collaborating with the labor department and organizing a joint meeting to decide on further action.

On the recent encounter of the accused involved in the murder of a five-year-old girl in Hubli, Parameshwar said, “A man from Bihar picked up a five-year-old child and murdered. He attacked police while being taken to inspect the spot. Should the police have defended themselves? So they shot him in the leg. It hit his back. They tried to take him to the hospital. However, there are reports that he died on the way to the hospital. I have immediately instructed an investigation led by the officers. The truth will be known after the investigation.”

Regarding the caste census report, he added, “I am reading the report. I have read four or five pages. Overall, there are two or three issues in it. Let's keep its impact, plans, and discussion in one section. The actual situation is known. It is not possible to say its impact, plans, and programs right now.”
