HK Patil Stresses Priority for Water Supply in Gadag
GADAG
District In-charge Minister H.K. Patil directed officials to prioritize adequate water supply for the residents of Gadag and Betageri. Chairing a meeting at the District Administration Building, he emphasized the need to curb water wastage and ensure proper distribution where necessary.
He instructed that water be collected nightly through jackwells and distributed ward-wise each morning. Patil also called for the reallocation of areas among municipal watermen and supervisors, and suggested replacing the current personnel if needed. He asked the Municipal Commissioner to take immediate steps in this regard.
“Water supply workers must now take responsibility. I’m confident they can ensure smooth distribution within 100 days. The issue must be resolved by November 1,” he stated.
Deputy Commissioner C.N. Sridhar instructed officials to first supply water to hilltop areas, followed by low-lying regions. The meeting was attended by Gadag-Betageri Urban Development Authority Chairman Akbar Saab Babarji, ZP CEO S. Bharat, SP Rohan Jagadish, Urban Development Cell Planning Director Basavanagowda, Municipal Commissioner Rajaram Pawar, and other municipal staff.
