The number of accidents is increasing amid the torrential rains in Chikkamagaluru. Accidents have occurred near Kavikal Gandi in the Chandradrona mountain range and near Ramanna Gandi in Mudigere taluk.
An incident occurred near Kavikal Gandi in the Chandradrona mountain range where the driver lost control and the car overturned. As a result, a traffic jam was created for kilometers. Thousands of tourists had arrived in Chikkamagaluru for a weekend trip, and the incident took place on the way to Datta Peetha. The occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries. Tourist friends and the police of Rural Police Station visited the spot and removed the car.
In another incident, two cars collided head-on due to heavy wind and rain, near Ramanna Gandi in Mudigere taluk. Last week, there was an accident where two cars fell into the Hemavati sub-river, and locals have accused the Highway Authority of repeatedly causing accidents on this route.
The drain is blocked, water is standing on the highway, and vehicles are getting into accidents when they try to avoid the water. In the incident that happened today, the occupants of the car suffered minor injuries and have been admitted to the hospital. The car's door was torn off the body due to the force of the collision. Locals are demanding that the pothole on the road be repaired and the drain cleaned to prevent further incidents. This incident took place within the limits of Banakal police station.
