A meeting of the District Health and Family Welfare Society took place at Anubhava Mantapa, led by Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S Yukesh Kumar. The meeting aimed to review the progress of national health programmes for the financial year 2024–25. Both physical and financial aspects of the programmes were evaluated up to March 2025.
The review focused on community-level access to health services and benefits. In maternal health, officials discussed house visits, health check-ups for both high-risk and normal pregnant women, and postnatal care, including the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). The progress of child health programmes, including neonatal and child care, was also reviewed. A key point discussed under the National Immunisation Programme was achieving 100% vaccination coverage, with special drives organized to ensure all children are immunized.
Programmes that underperformed during 2024–25 were also discussed, and officers were asked to create action plans to boost performance. For the financial year 2025–26, officers were instructed to develop a quarterly action plan, including ensuring 100% registration of pregnant women. Monthly meetings specific to each programme will be held to track progress.
CEO S Yukesh Kumar directed taluk health officers to identify and treat tuberculosis promptly, provide free spectacles under the Blindness Control Programme, and raise awareness about preventing communicable diseases.
