Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said that modern facilities will enhance the hospital's ability to serve the common people.
Maintaining our health and preventing illnesses is just as important as treating diseases. Our well-being is in our hands, the way we live, the lifestyle we follow, and our approach to life have become crucial, he said.
Minister Rao, who was part of the inauguration of various facilities at the Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre Arena, expressed concern over the rising incidence of lifestyle-related diseases among young people.
Many youngsters face high Blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, cardiac issues, and kidney problems. He pointed out that while economic growth and development are progressing, the increasing prevalence of diseases is directly linked to lifestyle choices, diet, lack of physical activity, and stress.
To tackle this growing health crisis, he stressed the importance of integrating multiple healthcare systems such as Ayurveda, Allopathy, Unani, Yoga, and exercise. A holistic approach is important to encourage healthier living, he said.
The Minister also praised Kanachur Medical College and Hospital, which currently has around 40,000 students enrolled, as a valuable asset to Karnataka.
India has the potential to become a global hub for human resources in healthcare.
To achieve this, both the govt and private organisations must focus on improving education and public health.
