Ningappa, head teacher of the Government Lower Primary School in Ambadevinagar, Gonal Camp, Maski taluk, has been suspended for reporting to work under the influence of alcohol. The suspension came after several complaints from parents and a media report exposed his behavior.

Despite ongoing complaints about his drunkenness, negligence in teaching, and misbehavior with students, no earlier action was taken. The issue escalated on July 24 when a news story showed him asleep in front of the school canteen after drinking during school hours.

Taking serious note of the incident, the Sindhanur Block Education Officer (BEO), along with the Zonal Education Coordinator, Cluster Resource Person (CRP), and Block Resource Person (BRP), conducted a thorough inquiry. The team submitted a report confirming misconduct and dereliction of duty. Following this, the BEO ordered Ningappa’s immediate suspension to ensure discipline in the school environment.
