This is abuzz with anticipation as the state government’s budget presentation draws near. Residents in the taluk have high expectations for significant financial allocations aimed at improving various sectors such as drinking water, industrial development, agriculture, healthcare, urban development, and tourism.

With the town strategically located—84 km from Bengaluru, 60 km from Devanahalli International Airport, 69 km from the Smart City in Tumakuru, and just 43 km from the Andhra Pradesh border—there is widespread hope that enhanced connectivity via national and state highways, along with continuous rail services to major metros like Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai, will further boost regional growth.

Local residents are particularly optimistic about the development of the Kudumalakunte Industrial Area. They believe that establishing modern industries and setting up large-scale manufacturing units could create thousands of jobs for the youth of the taluk. Moreover, there is a strong expectation that the government will allocate funds to transform the existing industrial zone into a thriving economic hub.

Water supply remains a pressing concern, as the taluk lacks any permanent drinking water projects. Farmers still rely on rainwater and traditional tank systems. There is a fervent call for the swift implementation of projects like the KC Valley, HN Valley, and Ettina Hole schemes to ensure a sustainable water supply, while local voices also urge the government to earmark funds for the rejuvenation of the Pinakini River to restore its natural flow.
