G Parameshwar clarified there was no pressure on state government to withdraw case

Actress Ranya Rao has found herself embroiled in an illegal gold smuggling case. She was intercepted at the airport while attempting to transport gold worth crores of rupees from Dubai to Bengaluru. Reports have emerged suggesting a violation of police protocol in her case, prompting the state government to order an investigation by the CID. However, this order was rescinded within 24 hours. State Home Minister G. Parameshwara addressed the media regarding the matter, shedding light on the ongoing situation.
Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara stated, “I ordered a CID investigation to ascertain the alleged violation of police protocol. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s office had initiated a higher-level inquiry. To prevent two parallel investigations into the same issue, we decided to withdraw the CID investigation.”
There have been rumors that influential politicians are involved in this case, leading to pressure on the government to retract the CID inquiry. Parameshwara addressed these speculations, asserting, “No one pressured us to order the inquiry, nor did anyone exert pressure to withdraw it. We simply wanted to avoid having two investigations into the same issue. There should be no confusion regarding this matter.”
Previously, photos of Parameshwara attending Ranya Rao’s wedding had gone viral, and when questioned about it, he responded curtly, “We attend numerous weddings.”
It has also come to light that Ranya used the name of IPS officer Ramachandra Rao while smuggling the gold. An investigation will be conducted to determine what facilitated her access to privileges and the extent of Ramachandra Rao's involvement in this case.
