FIR filed against accused who spread hate message
Belagavi
The police filed FIR against Anies Uddin for spreading false news that Colonel Sophia Qureshi of Belagavi’s house was attacked by RSS workers.
While Colonel Sophia Qureshi was providing real-time updates on Operation Sindoor, Anies Uddin falsely posted on social media that RSS had attacked her house in Belagavi. Following this, Belagavi police promptly visited Qureshi’s residence for verification. The Central Enforcement Network (CEN) police have now registered a voluntary complaint regarding this incident.
Colonel Sophia Qureshi’s husband, Tajuddin, lives in Konnur village in Gokak taluk, Belagavi district. Anies Uddin, who is currently in Canada, had posted an old photo of a demolished house along with the false claim that RSS attacked Qureshi’s home. As the news spread widely, police officials, including SP Bhimasankar Gulad, visited Konnur village to investigate. The SP clarified that the report was entirely false.
Later, Anies Uddin deleted his social media post. However, given the seriousness of the matter, SP Bhimasankar Gulad instructed to register an FIR against him. Based on this, the CEN police have filed a voluntary complaint against Anies Uddin under sections BNS 353(2) and 192 of the Indian Penal Code.
SP Bhimasankar Gulad responded to the case, stating that they are investigating the accused Anies. He said, “We have sought information from the Legal Cell about where the accused is located. If he is in India, he will be promptly arrested. If he is in Canada, legal steps will be taken internationally. We are in talks with the central government regarding this matter.”
He further added, “Currently, a case has been registered against Anies Uddin under BNS sections 353(2) and 192(a) at the CEN police station.”
