False wife claim against ex-MP D.K. Suresh sparks legal action
Ramanagara
A video recently shared on social media by a woman falsely claiming to be the wife of former MP D.K. Suresh has drawn significant public and political attention. The content of the video, which includes misleading and fabricated information, has led to legal action.
Advocate Pradeep, representing D.K. Suresh, has filed a complaint at the Ramanagara CEN Police Station. The complaint accuses the woman of defamation and spreading false information. Acting on this, police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The woman, who used the Instagram handle "pavitrah256" and Facebook profile name "PavitraDksuresh Dodalahalli," uploaded the controversial video on August 8. In the footage, she edited a photo of herself next to D.K. Suresh and falsely presented a voter ID card with his name placed beside her picture. These acts were clearly meant to mislead the public.
In the video, the woman says, “If I have to say I am D.K. Suresh’s wife, I am actually a fan of D.K. Suresh. Because he has done good work three times as an MP, which no one else has done. I am happy to call such a person my husband.”
Though she later claims to be just a fan, her actions have been deemed deceptive and harmful to D.K. Suresh’s public image. Authorities are now pursuing legal proceedings to address the issue and prevent further misinformation.
