Downpour brings joy to coffee growers

A significant downpour occurred in various parts of the taluk on Wednesday evening, bringing joy to coffee farmers as the rain was beneficial for their crops.

Areas such as Jennapur, Gonibeedu, Uggahalli, Janige, Kottigehara, Banakal, Bettagere, Sabbenahalli, and Hand Post experienced copious rainfall. The rain lasted for over half an hour, providing much-needed moisture to the coffee plants, which were already in bloom, helping them to develop properly.

With the recent rains over the past four to five days, farming activities such as preparing fields for ginger, vegetables, and green chilies have gained momentum.

In Baloor village, a heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused a tree to fall across the road, temporarily disrupting traffic.
