The district has shown significant improvement in its academic performance, climbing from the 23rd position last year to the 17th rank in the state in the 2nd PUC results.

Speaking at a press conference, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu shared the details of the district’s performance in the 2nd PUC annual examination for the academic year 2024–25.

She revealed that the district has bagged a total of nine state-level ranks this year, two each in Arts and Commerce, and five in Science. Last year, the overall result in the Arts stream was 53 percent, which has now risen to 55.21 percent.  Commerce stream has achieved pass percentage of 65.44 percent, whereas the Science stream saw the highest success rate at 84.29 percent.

Overall, out of 25,463 students who appeared for the exams across streams, 18,414 students cleared the exams, bringing the district’s average pass percentage to 72.32 percent.

Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu, along with Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Bhuvanesh Patil, felicitated the rank-holding students with sweets and words of appreciation.
