In a groundbreaking move, Farooqia Dental College in Mysuru has introduced a unique initiative aimed at supporting young dentists by providing them with fully equipped workstations to treat their own patients—a concept believed to be the first of its kind in India.
Recognizing the financial challenges faced by freshly graduated dentists, especially those repaying education loans, the college now offers a cost-effective solution to help them begin their professional journey without the burden of investing Rs 15–20 lakh to set up private clinics. The facility offers all dental specialities under one roof, ensuring both convenience and professional support.
Dr. H.P. Srinath, Director and Dean of Farooqia Dental College, said the setup includes sterilisation services, high-quality materials, wheelchair access, and ramps for the disabled. A newly launched 3D digital wing further enhances the treatment experience. “This initiative allows young dentists to focus on treating patients rather than worrying about infrastructure or operational costs,” Dr. Srinath said.
Interested dentists can book their slots online via www.rentdentalclinic.com, while the college supplies necessary implants and other materials. Patients pay a registration fee, and a portion of the service fee charged by the dentists goes to the college for maintaining the facility.
The concept has already shown promise. In the past week, 22 young dentists placed dental implants—many for the first time—treating 15 patients for free using advanced digital techniques.
The initiative not only empowers emerging dental professionals but also ensures that quality dental care reaches more patients at affordable rates, setting a precedent for institutions across the country to emulate.
