A fresh political row has broken out following a clash between officers linked to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi. A complaint filed by H. Anjaneya, Special Officer to the Dy CM, dated July 22, has now gone viral. In it, Anjaneya accuses C. Mohan Kumar, Assistant Resident Commissioner and aide to the CM, of threatening to beat him with his boots in front of staff members.

According to the complaint, Anjaneya claims Mohan Kumar has constantly interfered with his official duties since his appointment. He stated that Kumar attempted to assault him outside his chamber in the presence of staff. Anjaneya further added that if anything were to happen to him—such as an accident or harm—Kumar should be held responsible.

He also mentioned that Kumar had a history of such behavior and had allegedly assaulted another officer in the past. Despite being more senior in service, Anjaneya said he was denied responsibilities and promotions due to Kumar's influence. He has now sought a departmental inquiry, citing harassment, verbal abuse, obstruction of duty, and physical threats.

This confrontation has triggered intense debate within the Congress party, highlighting growing tensions between the Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar camps. Reacting to the issue, BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka said that the Congress leadership, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, has lost grip over the state.

Ashoka criticized the ongoing internal feud, calling it a dangerous sign of poor governance. The power struggle has moved from behind closed doors to public threats. The high command remains silent while Karnataka suffers, he said. This isn’t leadership it's chaos. The people of Karnataka deserve better, he concluded.
