The gram panchayat system is strong, and if the grants available under various govt schemes are utilised properly, rural infrastructure can be improved. Allapur, a tiny village in Kundgol taluk is a model in this regard, said Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu.

The funds allocated to Gram Panchayats under various schemes should be utilised properly. NREGA is a good scheme to provide employment and quality infrastructure in villages, she said.

Since the future of the country is built in schools, everyone should work hard to provide good education and culture to children from the primary school level, she added.
