Malur,

Members of the Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (KDSS) staged a dharna (protest) in front of the Malur Taluk Office on Thursday, alleging that the taluk administration is discriminating against Dalits by denying them land title deeds and refusing to issue caste certificates to members of the Chinna Dasari community.

Addressing the protestors, S.M. Venkatesh, a key organizer of the KDSS, criticized the administration’s inaction and demanded immediate action to urvey government land, including canals, public passages, and pasture lands on Araleri Road in Malur.Cancel illegal land records and remove encroachments to reclaim the land for government use.Provide title deeds and basic amenities to slum residents in Neelakantha Agrahara village, located in Kasaba Hobli. Survey and clear encroachments on pasture land and lakes in Lingapura village, also under Kasaba Hobli.

Protesters accused the taluk administration of following an anti-Dalit policy, alleging deliberate negligence in delivering rightful benefits and legal documents to marginalized communities.
