Dakshin Kannada Mahila Congress Condemns HD Kumaraswamy’s Remark

Shalet Pinto, the President of Dakshina Kannada District Mahila Congress, has criticized JD(S) State President HD Kumaraswamy for his recent statement about women and the Congress government's guarantee schemes. Kumaraswamy had suggested that women have lost their way due to these schemes, a claim that Pinto vehemently opposes. She has demanded that Kumaraswamy provide evidence to support his statement.

Pinto argued that the guarantee schemes have actually benefited women in the state, enabling them to purchase household items and cover other expenses. She further criticized Kumaraswamy, suggesting that his lifestyle, characterized by travel in high-end cars and stays in five-star hotels, has disconnected him from the realities faced by women, particularly those in rural areas.

Expressing disappointment in Kumaraswamy's remarks, Pinto demanded a genuine apology from him. She warned that if Kumaraswamy fails to respond, the Mahila Congress will launch intensive protests. Pinto emphasized the need for a Member of Parliament who prioritizes the development of Dakshina Kannada district, rather than focusing on other political agendas.
