Corporation Mayor Election on March 15
Belagavi
The date for the Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral elections for the 23rd term of the Belagavi Municipal Corporation has been fixed, and Regional Commissioner SB Shettenna has issued an order setting the date for the elections on March 15. BJP and Congress leaders are formulating a strategy to seize power in the corporation by any means necessary.
The two parties, BJP and Congress, are trying to increase the member strength required to ascend to the throne of power in the corporation. Congress leaders have brought three Legislative Council members to city and included them in the corporation's voter list, and are making every effort to hoist the Congress flag in the corporation by taking four BJP and some independent members under their wing.
Meanwhile, the BJP's strength has come down from 37 to 35 due to the cancellation of the membership of BJP members Jayant Jadhav and Mangesh Pawar. Against this backdrop, the BJP has prepared the election arena with a lot of preparation by including MLAs, MPs, and Legislative Council members in the voter list. On the other hand, BJP leaders have formulated a master plan to retain independent members.
Similarly, the Congress, which has 21 members in the corporation, including independents, is trying to take control of the corporation this time by any means. Meanwhile, District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi is strategically attracting independent members who were identified with the BJP.
The total strength of the party will be 29 members, including Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, MLA Asif Seth, Legislative Council member Prakash Hukkeri, Nagaraj Jadhav, Channaraj Hattiholi, Lakhan Jarkiholi and Chikkodi MP Priyanka Jarkiholi. It is no secret that the leaders are trying to woo the four BJP members.
