Corporation launches B Khata to weed out illegal settlements

The government has launched the B. Khata campaign to get rid of revenue and illegal settlements and unauthorized properties.
As per the government order, B and E accounts are already being provided free of cost for revenue properties in the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils, Town Panchayats, Gram Panchayats. There are a lot of properties within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation, and hundreds of applications have been received to obtain B and E accounts.
The corporation officials are allocating B and E accounts as per the government order. Already, Deputy Commissioner Dr GM Gangadhar Swamy has instructed all the PDOs, Municipal Corporations in the district to issue B accounts.
As of the order, a total of 450 applications have been received within the corporation's jurisdiction. Information is yet to be made available across the district. Ten thousand was fixed to provide these accounts. As per the instructions of in-charge Minister SS Mallikarjun, the accounts are being provided by charging Rs 50.
We have instructed all PDOs, municipalities, city councils, and corporations to make B accounts. We have started a movement to make B or E accounts. Already, 450 applications have been received by Davangere Corporation. Information on how many have been received in the district is yet to be made available. Also, we will hold a meeting in Harihar on the 14th. Although the corporation has fixed a fee of 10 thousand, they are not receiving money as per the instructions of the minister. Instead, we will provide B and E accounts free of cost. If you apply as per the government criteria, you will be given B and E accounts, Dr GM Gangadhar Swamy said.
