Congress' Guarantee projects are destroying homes: Vishwanath

MLC H Vishwanath strongly criticized the Karnataka government, calling its guarantee schemes a cause of unrest in homes. Speaking at a press conference, he claimed that free schemes without proper criteria have led to quarrels between couples and damaged households. He described the current administration as “crazy” and accused it of lacking financial discipline and creating an atmosphere of anarchy.
Vishwanath also took aim at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of lacking the courage to implement the caste census. “The budget should have been based on caste census data,” he said, adding that the ideas presented in 2013 were not Siddaramaiah’s, but came from leaders like himself, Ramesh Kumar, and CM Ibrahim.
He further questioned why Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar should not become CM, stating that Shivakumar had worked hard for the Congress. Vishwanath challenged Siddaramaiah’s leadership, saying, “If I hadn’t brought you to Congress, how would you have become CM?”
Vishwanath also criticized both the BJP and Congress, saying BJP lacks governance skills and is a weak opposition. He claimed that BJP leader Vijayendra’s win was the result of a compromise between Yediyurappa and Siddaramaiah. “I am a senior leader in Congress and a junior in BJP,” he added.
