Conduct A Study On JJM And Make The Project A Success, MP BY Raghavendra

MP BY Raghavendra told the officials that a study should be conducted in the district under the JJM project related to drinking water and the project should be made a success by reaching all the eligible people.

He spoke while presiding over the district-level Disha committee meeting organized at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Tuesday,

A total of 2528 works have been sanctioned under JJM with an estimated cost of Rs. 10.75 crore and 2507 works have been started. 699 are in progress and 1808 have been completed. Before undertaking any new work, the officials should conduct a pre-project review. He said that the local people's representatives should take the opinion of the officials and move forward.

The drinking water project under the Amrit-1 project has been completed. Under the Amrit 2 project, tenders have been floated in 7 towns and survey work is underway, the Karnataka Urban Drinking Water Supply Board Assistant Executive Engineer said. At this time, the members of Bhadravati Taluk Disha Samiti said that water is not coming from the newly provided drinking water connection in Bhadravati, but water is coming from the old pipe and this should be checked.

MLC Dr Dhananjaya Sarji, MLA Araga Gnanendra, DDPI Manjunath, Committee members Gurumurthy, Mallikarjuna Hakre, Girish Bhadrapur also spoke. 

MLAs SN Channabasappa, Sharada Pooryanayaka, MLC Balkish Banu,  Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Hemanth and other officials participated.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a unit cost of Rs. 1.20 lakh is being given for building houses, but some beneficiaries have returned this money saying that the unit cost is not enough. In some places, it is being given only to those who have title deeds. The MP said that this project should be regularized and delivered to the eligible ones.
