MP Basavaraj Bommai criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for being consumed by their battle for the Chief Minister's chair, accusing them of neglecting the welfare of the people and the state.
Bommai told the media that the ruling leaders have been focused solely on protecting their positions while the poor and farmers continue to suffer. He highlighted ongoing issues such as floods and a rising number of heart attack cases, adding that the government's lack of action has left public departments in disarray. "The public now regrets bringing this government to power," Bommai said, adding that citizens are increasingly disillusioned with the administration.
He also slammed the government for its financial mismanagement, particularly for owing Rs 250 crore to trucks supplying ration food. “This government has failed in financial management. During the BJP government's tenure, we allocated sufficient funds for several schemes. Now, they are just spreading lies,” he alleged.
Bommai pointed out that during Siddaramaiah’s previous term as CM, many bills were pending but were cleared under the BJP government. He emphasized the financial stability during his own tenure and accused the current government of betraying the people. "They promised 15kg of rice, but now they’re not even providing 10kg. The public is not getting food grains, and the healthcare system is in disarray," he asserted.
