Chariot breaks down during Bappanadu annual fair

A chariot broke down during the annual festival of the historic Mulki Bappanadu Sri Durgaparameshwari Kshetra on the coast late on Friday night.
The top of the chariot broke during the Brahmarathotsava during the annual fair. The incident occurred at around 2 am. At that time, many devotees and priests were in the chariot.
However, no one was harmed. Later, the goddess was placed in the Chandramandal chariot and the festival continued and the rituals were performed.
The Brahmarath breaking down during the festival has caused anxiety and concern among devotees and the area. The Bappanadu Durgaparameshwari Devi's Shayanotsava is very famous. It is believed that the Goddess bathes on jasmine flowers.
Devotees offered more than 1.5 lakh Atte Mallige flowers at the Shayanotsava programme held on Friday night.
