A four-member delegation led by Union Steel Ministry Secretary Sandeep Foundrick visited and inspected the Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Factory in Bhadravati. The delegation met and discussed with the workers there about the steps needed for the revival of the factory.

Last month, Union Minister for Large Industries HD Kumaraswamy had announced an investment of around Rs 8-10 thousand crores for the revival of the VISL factory. Following this, the Central Government has ordered a survey for the Bhadravati to Chikkajajur rail route. This has given rise to hope among VISL workers.

The delegation included Union Steel Ministry Secretary Sandeep Foundrick, Union Steel Ministry Joint Secretary Abhijit Narendra, Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Chairman Amarendu Prakash, and Technical Director MR Gupta.

The delegation visited the factory's primary mill, blast furnace and machinery department. During this time, the delegation reviewed the current situation of the factory and discussed with the labor unions the technical aspects required for its rehabilitation.

The visit of the central team has brought happiness not only to us but also to the people of Bhadravati. All the signs of revitalization of the factory are visible from this. The delegation has also responded in a supportive manner for the revitalization of factory. Our labor organization has given details about the current situation in the factory and said that we have the land required for the production of 2.5 million tons of steel. They have been told to remove the existing missionaries and install a mission equipped with new technology.

Amruth, Secretary of VISL Trade Union, informed about the delegation's visit and said that the central delegation has obtained all the information required for the revival of the factory. They held discussions with our trade union and reviewed the current situation of the factory.
