Bull Taming Competition, Two Killed

In a separate cases, two persons were killed in the district when they went to watch a bull-taming competition. The deceased has been identified as Lokesh (32), a resident of Alkola layout in the city, who had gone to watch a bull-taming competition at Konaganavalli village, In another incident, a 23-year-old youth, Ranganath, died in Malur village of Shikaripura taluk when he had gone to watch a bull-taming competition.
Lokesh, who worked as a labourer, had gone to see a bull-taming competition organised at Konaganavalli. During this time, Lokesh was hit in the chest by a bull that came from the opposite side. Lokesh collapsed on the spot. He was immediately rushed to Ayanur Hospital. As per the advice of doctors, he was brought to The Meggan Hospital in Shivamogga. However, Lokesh had died by the time he reached the hospital.
Lokesh is survived by his wife and two sons aged 5 and 3 and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Lokesh was the support of the family. Lokesh's family has alleged that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the organisers of the bull-taming competition. Lokesh's family is in a state of grief. Appropriate legal action should be taken against the organisers. He urged the district administration to put a stop to such dangerous competitions. Lokesh's wife Chandramma has lodged a complaint with the Kunsi police station against the organisers of the bull-taming competition.
