BJP State President and MLA BY Vijayendra said that the poor have been suffering since the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah came to power.
Speaking at a huge public meeting on Wednesday in connection with the Janakrosha Yatra, he sarcastically said that Siddaramaiah gave 5 guarantees and did not give much publicity to the 6th guarantee; that is the guarantee of price hike. He criticized that the common people, farmers and the poor have found it difficult to survive as the Congress government in the state has increased the prices of more than 50 essential items.
The BJP government has repealed Article 370, which insulted Hindu Pandits in Kashmir and led to the deaths of soldiers. Vijayendra explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi rushed from Saudi Arabia after learning about the terrorist attack that took place yesterday.
As soon as he learned about the massacre of Hindus, Amit Shah sent officials. We are all Hindus first. Not that caste, not this caste; Pakistan must pay the price for the killing of 28 people, he said. He expressed confidence that the Prime Minister will take bold action against the terrorists.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former Minister B Sriramulu, MLC N Ravikumar, state, district office bearers, Mandal Presidents and party leaders participated.
Vijayendra condemned the increase in petrol and stamp duty rates. When Yediyurappa was the Chief Minister, it was enough for farmers to pay Rs 25,000 to get electricity connection to their fields. Today, under the rule of Congress' Siddaramaiah, he objected that they have to pay Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh. He criticized that it has become a burden on the poor and farmers.
