BJP’s conduct is shameful and regrettable: Minister

Labour Minister Santosh Lad defended the suspension of 18 legislators, stating that they disrupted assembly proceedings by insisting on discussing the honeytrap case.
Speaking to the media, Lad accused the BJP of creating unnecessary chaos despite the government’s assurance of a high-level investigation. “What was the urgency over the honeytrap issue? Why create a ruckus near the Speaker and throw papers?” he questioned.
He criticized the opposition for prioritizing the controversy over pressing issues like farmers’ concerns and water shortages. “Even after the Chief Minister responded, they kept raising the same topic. BJP is only seeking media attention. Does justice come from such behavior?” he remarked.
Lad argued that the government had already committed to investigating the matter without needing a formal complaint. He urged the opposition to focus on real public issues instead of sensationalizing matters for television coverage.
He further expressed concerns about the central government’s approach to constituency delimitation, warning that reduced representation would create challenges.
