Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has strongly denied the BJP's ₹500 crore kickback allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, calling them baseless and politically motivated. “These are false allegations. They have no work. BJP is staging a drama to cover up its own irregularities and misdeeds,” he told reporters.

Khandre said the BJP is behaving in this manner to distract people from its own corruption. "The post of Governor is constitutional and must be respected. It should not turn into a BJP office," he added, emphasizing the need to maintain the dignity of that position.

He pointed out that during the BJP's rule, Karnataka topped the charts in corruption. “Rayareddy might have said this because it's true. Tenders worth thousands of crores were floated without financial approval. That’s why problems have arisen now,” Khandre explained.

He also hit out at the Centre, questioning why the BJP isn't protesting against rising prices. “Let them fight the central government. We’ll support that. Prices of petrol, diesel, and cylinders have all gone up. They don't speak on that,” he said.

Blaming the BJP for divisive politics, Khandre accused them of using religion and caste to gain votes. “They are ruining the economy by selling government assets to their rich friends, and causing more unemployment. Yet, they expect us to answer for it,” he concluded.
