Bhagwanth Khuba Accuses Eshwar Khandre of Politics of Hatred
Bidar
Former Union Minister Bhagwanth Khuba has leveled serious allegations against Eshwar B Khandre, the In-charge Minister of Bidar, accusing him of fostering a climate of fear and hatred in the district. Khuba claims that Khandre is filing false cases against leaders from various social groups and organizations, and is attempting to have them deported from the district.
Khuba further alleged that the situation in Bidar mirrors the atmosphere of fear during the Emergency in 1975. He claimed that for the past two years, the district has been plagued by lawlessness, with daylight murders, extortion, and illegal activities such as gambling, bio-diesel sales, and rice smuggling. Khuba accused local authorities of shielding the criminals involved in these activities.
The former minister stated that anyone who dares to speak out or protest against these issues faces a coordinated attack through false cases, often filed within 100 days. He added that old cases are resurrected, and individuals are intimidated with late-night police summons or even forcefully taken away in police vehicles.
Khuba went on to claim that under Khandre’s influence, the police fabricate false reports and issue deportation notices against those who resist these tactics. He revealed that several individuals who had received deportation notices had shared their distress with him. Khuba also accused the government of restricting media coverage on incidents like thefts, mentioning a shootout in which Rs 90 lakh was stolen, but no suspects had been arrested.
The allegations made by Khuba have sparked political tensions in the district, with growing concerns over the alleged misuse of power by local authorities.
