BDCC bank centenary celebrations next month

MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi said the management body of the Belagavi District Central Cooperative (BDCC) Bank decided to celebrate the centenary of the bank, which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, next month.
Speaking to media persons, Jarkiholi said the bank has earmarked Rs 14 crore for the event. However, the money will be spent to colour the buildings of Prathamik Krishi Pattin Societies (PKPS), which work under BDCC Bank across the district, giving low-interest loans to the farming community.
Balachandra revealed that the bank earned Rs 33.1 crore profit in the past financial year, which is 8.3% higher than the previous year's profit. He said the bank has Rs 8,592.7 crore working capital.
Bank director and former MP Annasaheb Jolle said the bank distributed Rs 1,486.9 crore loans to 15 different private sugar factories and the recovery is happening properly. Director of the bank and former MLA Mahantesh Dodagoudar said the bank planned to open nine branches and had approval from the RBI in this regard.
